“It’s already done; it’s already yours” (Matthew 25:14-30). This profound truth applies not just to our personal lives, but also to our roles as leaders. What God has for you is for you, and it has your name on it! In the parable of the talents, we often focus on the servant who buried his gift out of fear. But what about the two who invested their talents wisely? They exemplify the vision and courage that effective leadership requires.
Imagine a conversation among them after the Lord blessed the first two. If the third servant approached them and asked, “What happened?” they might respond, “I’ve been through the storm and rain. I’ve cried, I’ve felt depressed, but it didn’t stop me, for there’s no weapon that shall prosper” (Isaiah 54:17). Their experiences reflect the resilience needed in leadership: the ability to navigate challenges while remaining focused on the vision.
The servants who doubled their talents understood that since God had given them their gifts, they had every reason to believe they could gain even more. The Lord who entrusted them with those talents would affirm, “It’s already done; all you have to do is go to it.” As leaders, we must internalize this message and inspire our teams to embrace their God-given abilities.
The Power of Your Anointing in Leadership
God has empowered you; He has anointed you, and He has equipped you with everything you need (2 Peter 1:3). As leaders, it’s essential to recognize that our authority comes from our divine empowerment. It’s okay to cry, but don’t stay stuck in your tears. Move forward! Even when the going gets tough, remember that effective leadership requires action.
Repeat after me: “I’m giving my tears an expiration date; weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning” (Psalm 30:5). This mindset will not only uplift you but also set a tone of resilience for those you lead.
Wait on the Promise and Implement Your Vision
Waiting on the promise can be challenging, especially in leadership. We often wish for immediate results when God makes a promise. But remember, God is not slack concerning His promises (2 Peter 3:9). What He has promised you, He will surely fulfill. Do you believe that? As leaders, our vision requires patience and trust. All you need to do is wait on the promise (Isaiah 40:31). Shout it with me: “Wait on the promise!”
If you’re wondering why you haven’t received what the Lord has promised, consider this: God told you in Genesis 13:17, “Walk in the length of it and in the breadth of it, for I will give it unto thee.” The reason you might still be waiting is that you haven’t gotten up to claim it. Instead of rising to face adversity, you may have chosen to stay in bed during your trials.
As leaders, we must realize that the reasons for our setbacks often lie in our own inaction. God has done His part; now it’s time for us to do ours (James 2:26). Implementing our vision requires active engagement and a commitment to move forward.
Walk in His Favor as a Leader
Psalm 23 reminds us, “I walk through the valley of the shadow of death; I fear no evil, for the Lord is my light and my salvation; of whom shall I be afraid?” (Psalm 23:4). Even when challenges arise, those who are committed to their vision will find a way to persevere. If you were one of the servants with five or two talents, you’d confidently declare that the enemy tried but failed.
God favors you! You are walking in His favor (Psalm 5:12). Effective leaders know that the road may not always be easy, but they trust that God will not abandon them. Healing is done; deliverance is done; your salvation, new jobs, new businesses—it’s all done!
Proclaim this to the devil: “No weapon formed against me shall prosper” (Isaiah 54:17). And every tongue that rises against you, God has given you the power to condemn (Revelation 12:11).
So lift your hands and thank God: “Lord, I thank You for closing this book and opening a new one.” As the scripture reminds us, “Before I stand before an open door” (Revelation 3:8).
Don’t just push against the door or knock on another one—sometimes, all it takes is for you to step forward, and the door will swing open. Walk right on through and claim what is already yours!
Conclusion and Challenge for Leaders
As leaders, we must remember that our blessings are already prepared for us. Don’t let fear or doubt keep you from claiming what is rightfully yours. The doors are open; all you need to do is step through them.
I challenge you this week to identify one area in your leadership journey where you’ve been hesitant to move forward. Take a step of faith, whether that means reaching out for a new opportunity, starting a conversation you’ve been avoiding, or simply trusting God more fully (Proverbs 3:5-6).
Embrace the truth that it’s already done! Walk in His favor, implement your vision, and watch how God transforms your situation. The promise is waiting for you—go and claim it!
